2016

Fire Door Inspection Solutions was formed by a management team of highly experienced industry experts whose aim is to bring a new service offering to the market which addresses some of the limitations and frustrations of existing maintenance options.

With its mission to become the ‘go-to’ provider for all Fire Door requirements, the Fire Door Inspection Solutions offer encompasses inspection, repair, upgrade, replacement and consumables all available from one point of contact with consistent and secure recording of maintenance details to allow fully-compliant product management.

A priority of Fire Door Inspection Solutions has been the launch of its paperless, cloud-based PPM system, with digital tracking for on and off-site managers, real time reporting and compatibility with clients’ own systems. In addition, intellectual property purchased from the Leaderflush Shapland/TDSL businesses allows the provision of like-for-like replacement products on customer sites, ensuring full legislative compliance and consistency in design and finish.

2012

Leaderflush Shapland recognised the TDSL Facilities Management Team's strong client base and reputation for quality, and acquired the entire business to offer these strengths to support the larger LS business. LS and TDSL were brought together at this point and resources were combined. Over the next few years, the scope of work and responsibilities were further expanded by the addition of demanding and highly technical projects such as the 3000 doorsets required for the Southmead Hospital project, requiring a mix of Privacy, X-Ray, Fire and Anti-bacterial door products that this type of project demands.

2008

The origins of Fire Door Inspection Solutions are in the original Facilities Management Team of the then door supplier TDSL. With the need to offer specialist support to larger clients, such as Royal Derby Hospital, Kingsmill Hospital and Newark Hospital contracts, the team developed new systems to aid ef cient documentation and stronger, more effective communication. Foundations were developed to meet this need which formed the basis for the current-day cloud-based database.

Maintenance & Inspections

Maintenance & Inspections

The importance of maintaining Fire Doors cannot be over-emphasised. A Fire Door is more than just the door leaf. It is part of a whole ‘door set’, which includes the door, the frame, hinges, other performance related ironmongery, seals, and importantly the way these are installed into the wall. These elements all require regular inspection and maintenance.

Unlike a general inspection, which is usually intended as guidance and not specific to the nature of the door in question, our intellectual property ownership enables Fire Door Inspection Solutions to carry out inspections in accordance with the speci c test evidence of the product, thus improving the accuracy of the inspection and demonstrable cost reductions.

Often door manufacturers make claims that their products are tested to show that the con guration of the door, door frame and ironmongery meet the relevant compliance standards. However unless certification documents can be produced to evidence these claims, there is no proof and more importantly a potential non-compliance issue with the fire door installed.

The majority of our competitors can offer a limited inspection service, but thanks to our accreditations, our ownership of intellectual property rights, our access to test evidence and the years of experience we have in product and brand development, we are able to offer so much more.

All inspections carried out by Fire Door Inspection Solutions are handled by operatives who are fully trained to a minimum of level 1 under the third party independent Fire Door Inspection Scheme. Findings of any inspection visit are quickly and accurately uploaded to the cloud on mobile devices. Pre-agreed rates for any element of a unit, which could require modi cation or replacement, are also linked to the system.

This means that fully itemised costings can be generated whilst on site to ensure an effective and timely response to the client.

Secure client access ensures that all reports, any actions and the status of a particular doorset can be accessed either on-site or remotely in real time including historical data inclusive of photographic evidence.

New and Replacement Doors

New and Replacement Doors

Our extensive range of products include those rated for fire, smoke, acoustic, x-ray and hygienic post-formed applications.

Regardless of which solution is required, the doors will be delivered or replaced within 7 days, thanks to our dedicated production line. For particularly urgent scenarios, a 24-hour premium service is available.

Full access to like-for-like new, fully-certified products and the Leaderflush Shapland legacy scheduling service means that door matching is never an issue and the acquisition of all data relating to the specific doorset is made seamless by the Fire Door Inspection Solutions team.

Upgrades and Modifications

Upgrades and Modifications

It may not always be necessary to replace a particular door and – especially at a time when cost ef ciency is key to business success and growth – the modification of an existing door set may be a very viable, compliant and preferred option.

Through our rights to the Leaderflush Shapland IP we hold extensive historical certification data for doors supplied previously by LS, TDSL, John Porter Doors and of course the current certification of IDSL. This enables Fire Door Inspection Solutions to fit third party ironmongery/ components to these doors without invalidating the performance of the product. Our technical strength is a cornerstone of our offering and support to our client base We can advise our clients about the door certification applicable at the time the door was originally installed through the certification data we hold. This data tells us the version of certification valid at the time of the original door installation meaning that any retrospective work to the doorsets will be completed in accordance with the product requirements at that time ensuring full compliance.

Additional enhancements such as French polishing can also be made to restore a unit to its former glory.

On-line recording and tracking of any modifications undertaken by Fire Door Inspection Solutions is carried out as standard and this allows us to be pro-active in the tackling of any PPM; providing details of life-cycle costings and advising on the most cost effective solutions to the client in the future.

Supply and Fit

Supply and Fit

All doorsets are installed by our expert joiners, signed off by either a level 1 or level 2 third party-trained Fire Door Inspection Solutions operative. Our operatives are fully aware of product constraints, certification parameters and installation requirements.

Replacement Components

Replacement Components

A Fire Door is often only as good as the components that make it. Material components such as seals, glass, ironmongery and glazing beads are available to order directly from Fire Door Inspection Solutions, in line with the test evidence of the doorset.

Please bear in mind however, that replacement components fitted by others will not always ensure that the door will comply with the original certification, unless signed off by a specialist.

Fire

Fire

Fire resistance is one of the most fundamental performance criteria for doors and doorsets, resulting in complex interrelated regulations, standards and guides. The Fire Door Inspection Solutions product range includes FD30, FD60, FD90 and FD120 (also available with Plasform) performance.

Appropriate smoke seals and intumescent seals are factory fitted into our fire doors and doorsets to suit their intended use. Fire Door Inspection Solutions fire resistant doors and doorsets are third party certificated by the BWF-Certi fire and Q-Mark schemes or IFC certification.

Acoustic

Acoustic

Controlling noise within buildings using acoustic doors can be a complex area traditionally involving either specialist consultants or a purely subjective approach.

At Fire Door Inspection Solutions, our specialist acoustic door products offer up to 46 RwdB sound reduction, designed and included with the appropriate seals to suit performance.

Security

Security

For situations requiring resistance against forced entry, vandalism and more serious burglary attempts, Fire Door Inspection Solutions has developed a range of high performance security doorsets.

Our considerable experience with clients and specialist bodies having a particular interest in security, combined with rigorous physical attack testing procedures, ensures robust performance. Further third party PAS 24 testing has been carried out to reinforce the internal test program.

Hygienic

Hygienic

With hygiene being such a critical factor across all sectors, there could hardly be a better time for Fire Door Inspection Solutions to provide an anti-bacterial PVC finish for infection control in doors and doorsets. The anti-bacterial protection can be further enhanced by postforming the faces around the vertical edges of the leaf and frame, thus encapsulating the door and frame.

The threat of infection exists in all environments, whether it be a hospital, care home, school, hotel or catering establishment. These and other sectors have a real need for protection from bacteria and cross contamination from common items such as walls, doors and floors.

X-Ray

X-Ray

We can provide the Leadline range of doorsets covering various levels of X-Ray protection while accommodating all the standard Fire Door Inspection Solutions facing options to match our other performance doorsets.

Leadline doorsets incorporate lead sheeting in a range of thicknesses and this protection extends through the doorframes, forming an effective barrier to radiation in all directions.

Particular care is taken to ensure continuous protection and the lead sheeting is located closer to one door face so that it shields the lock-case area.

Appropriate smoke seals and intumescent seals are factory fitted into our fire doors and doorsets to suit their intended use. Fire Door Inspection Solutions fire resistant doors and doorsets are third party certificated by the BWF-Certifire and Q-Mark schemes or IFC certification.
